Head of Behavioural Change

Kier Group is looking to recruit a Head of Behavioural Change to lead and manage the Behavioural Change team support the development of SHEA policy whilst designing, coordinating and delivering Behavioural Change projects / training in line with Kier's long term strategy.

Key tasks and accountability:

  • To implement and comply with Kier Group's SHEA policy and procedures, all legal requirements, and best practice
  • To plan and deliver a behavioural change programme tailored toward Kier's strategy, providing feedback and acting as mentor to others responsible for behavioural change delivery where necessary
  • To support the achievement of the annual financial budget and develop and seek approval for business cases justifying investments
  • To actively seek cost effective solutions when procuring goods or services and achieve project/programme objectives to time/cost/quality
  • To develop and support an organisational culture that embodies the values of Kier Group
  • To lead, manage and motivate managers and staff to establish their full commercial contribution to the organisation and to ensure all relationships are collaborative
  • To mentor others and provide the environment for them to develop high performing teams
  • To identify short-term and medium-term market trends, and support the development and implementation of Group and / or the business unit's strategy
  • To develop, support and lead relationships with current and potential stakeholders such as customers, contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers
  • To actively promote Kier's behavioural change programmes within and outside of the business
  • To assess, control, mitigate and report risks and ensure the timely input, accuracy and maintenance of data within business systems
  • To provide stakeholders with regular, accurate and consolidated information regarding capability, performance and compliance with policies and procedures
  • To collaborate with external organisations to arrange behavioural change training ensuring continuity and consistency in delivery


Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience leading a team of Functional reports
  • Demonstrable leadership skills, focused on achieving the strategic goals of the organisation
  • Ability to consult and make decisions across all levels in the business
  • Working knowledge of behavioural change methods and techniques and an understanding of SHE legislation
  • Knowledge and application of data analysis techniques and tools such as e.g Lean and Kaizen
  • Previous experience in similar or supporting post where a 'step change' in performance was delivered into the business
  • Experience of delivering and implementing improvement programmes with demonstrable commercial results
  • A Master's Degree (or working towards) in a relevant discipline i.e. Behavioural Change, Behaviour Analysis, Psychology
  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • CSCS - Black card
