Whether you work in HR within an organisation or work as an independent consultant, this workshop will help you build, refine or simply improve your ability to focus on your stakeholders and what they are really asking of you.



This one day programme introduces the Consulting Value Chain the 6 primary phases of engagement with and delivery of consulting and change interventions. In a very practical and interactive way it provides the opportunity to learn about and practice using consulting tools and frameworks of particular value to the early stages of the Consulting Value Chain, client engagement and problem diagnosis. This workshop is designed to be of value to participants with a wide range of experiences and roles:

  • from MSc student anticipating the skills sets they will require
  • early in career practitioners who are looking to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the consulting process and gain confidence in some practical skills
  • to more experienced practitioners seeking to hone and polish these elements of their practice

  • establishing credibility in your initial engagement with your prospective client
  • contracting with your client and scoping your work with them
  • establishing the desired end result and underlying business rationale
  • the diagnosis of root causes of the presenting problem



Anton Fishman

Anton has worked as a consultant and set up and run a number of consulting firms over the last 35 years. Primarily working with large and complex international businesses his projects have addressed leadership, the identification of talent, performance management and organisational development. More recently his focus shifted to enhancing the impact and effectiveness of HR Functions for whom HR academies were designed and run and from which this programme is derived. A former Board member of the ABP, Anton is the convening judge for this year’s ABP Excellence Awards.
